Ive seen a gt2 go from 10-160 on a twisty road on pch. These things are glued to the ground and nothing can touch it’s performance.

gt-r is smokin every porsch i’ve seen in the same track with it.. beatin them on lap times, 0-100kph(0-62), 400m drag(1/4mile), and the funniest of them all -> beating them even in stoping distance.. and thats amazing even for a person that see a Brand and not a car

IS-F is also limited.. but at 170mph.. but in terms of speed, IS-F is obvious faster in the top end..

but if that was the most important thing, everybody would have to surender to DATSUN GT-R :D

    1€ is more like 1.5$

and here in portugal they cost around 110k€

but here its always like that.. the new GT-R will be sold by 125k€

    and a new IS250 costs around 55k€=~77.5k$

base M3 doesn’t have 19”wheels and leater for example, unlike the IS-F

And to the person saying IS-F is much cheaper than M3 needs to sh*t the f**ck up and pull his head out of his a**. M3 sedan base model is $3000 cheaper than the IS-F without the optional package. Once fully loaded, the M3 sedan and IS-F are equally priced. M3 comes with fully adjustable track suspension, throttle response and steering settings that can be turned into race track mode easily by pressing the M button. Granny auto slushbox Lexus has no such concept

Car and Driver Magazine, Motor Trend, Edmunds, Auto Express, Top Gear magazine and the list goes on. IS-F got royally its a** handed to it by the M3 for example, M3 r*ped the IS-F around the race track by more than 4.4 seconds in the Motor Trend comparison. IS-F has been placing dead last in EVERY SINGLE comparison except in the one’s of the Lexus fanboi world!

When you turn off the speed limiter, the IS-F will do about 305 kph/189 mph, the M3 about 300 kph/186 mph. Both cars are normally electronically limited (IS-F 170 mph, M3 155 mph). You need to understand that the old GS 400 (300 hp/420 Nm) could do 170 mph with the speed limiter off. And that was a piece of shit compared to the IS-F (423 hp/505 Nm). The IS 350 (306 hp/377 Nm) can also beat 170 mph with the speed limiter off. Even my old LS 400 (245 hp/353 Nm) can do 155 mph. And that is a house.

    is a BMW M3 only 53K $? and a only IS-F 56K $? here in the netherlands the cars are around 100K € that are EURO’s..

1 euro is 1.22$ dollar, i don’t think your prices are correct.

I have yet to see a test that tests the M3 vs the IS-F on the same track. Where’s your proof? Either, I don;t really care. If you don’t like the IS-F, here’s how to remedy that situation: Go to the search box on top and type in “2008 BMW M3″ and press enter. Problem solved!

dear me, has it ever occurred to you that BMW has always been modest with their numbers.

  21. 21 On May 13th, 2009, Lemantech said:

okay, first off, in nearly 95 % of the other tests the m3 is faster than the IS-F to 60. Also, the M3 is electronically LIMITED to 155 mph. I’m very sure that if you remove the limiter it can go equal or faster than 170 mph. In addition, it’s not all about straight-line. The M3 has beaten the Is-F around a track in every road test. Sorry, but your comments are rather ignorant.

We do not know, how fast the IS-F is around corners, but it is ABSOLUTELY clear that thanks to the extra torque and lower drag coefficient, it out-accelerates the M3 and the RS4, especially from 62 mph to 155 mph (100 - 250 kph). You can also bet that it does brake nearly or just as well as the M3 and probably better than the RS4. All things considered, it is a WORTHY competitor without ANY doubt. Overall, I expect the Nurburgring lap times to be better than the RS4 and near or equal to the M3.

    Specifications in European units (IS-F - M3 - RS4):
    Max. power 423 hp - 420 hp - 420 hp
    Max. torque 505 rpm - 400 rpm - 430 rpm
    Power at max. torque 374 hp - 222 hp - 337 hp
    Drag coefficient 0.27 - 0.31 - 0.31
    Weight 1700 kg - 1655 kg - 1845 kg
    Weight/power 4.02 kg/hp - 3.94 kg/hp - 4.39 kg/hp
    Torque/weight 297 Nm/T - 242 Nm/T - 233 Nm/T
The IS-F is a bit heavier than the M3 (2.7%), but has higher max. torque (26.2%) and MUCH more power at max. torque (68.4%).

OK, guys, everybody likes his brand etc., but give Lexus the credit they deserve! The IS-F is OBVIOUSLY unlike ANY Lexus before! Starting price: Lexus IS-F $56,000 - BMW M3 $53,800 - Audi RS4 $66,000 - MB CL63 AMG $138,325. So MB CL63 AMG is NOT a competitor in ANY way. The IS-F has very similar specifications to the M3 and RS4 and you can bet it will handle nearly as well as the M3 and be a bit more comfortable. It is definitely one of the three best cars in this segment. GREAT JOB, LEXUS!
